The Part of Your Face You've Been Skipping for Fifteen Years
The Part of Your Face You’ve Been Skipping for Fifteen Years
I bought a scarf I didn’t need.
That was the moment, if I’m honest about it. Not a mirror, not a photograph — a scarf, in September, indoors, because I’d started reaching for something to put between my neck and everyone else. I’d been doing it for months before I noticed I was doing it.
My face I had covered. Fifteen years of serums, sunscreen, the occasional expensive experiment. And every single morning, without once deciding to, I stopped at my chin.
Why it goes there first
It’s thinner, it moves more, and it gets less of everything
The skin on the neck is finer than the skin on the face and has far fewer oil glands to keep it cushioned. It also never stops moving — every swallow, every turn of the head, and now several hundred times a day looking down at a phone.
Then add the part nobody says out loud: it gets the least care of any skin you own. Less sunscreen. Less moisturiser. Less of the good serum, because the good serum is expensive and the face feels like where it counts.
So the one area with the least support does the most work. It isn’t a mystery that it shows first. It’s arithmetic.
What I changed
Four things, and only one of them cost money
The bottle I could actually verify
Here is the thing nobody in this industry says plainly: with a clear serum, you cannot tell. They all look the same. They all feel the same. You are trusting a label, and after the third or fourth one you stop believing labels entirely.
This one is royal blue, and I bought it for the stupid reason that I wanted to know why.
It turns out the colour isn’t decoration. Copper bound to a peptide chain absorbs light in the red-orange range and reflects blue — which means the blue in the bottle is the copper itself. It’s why every genuine copper peptide solution looks like that. After four clear bottles I couldn’t verify a single thing about, I was holding one where the active was visible through the glass.
What it’s actually like to use
Lightweight. It doesn’t pill under sunscreen, which matters enormously on a neck, because pilling is the reason most people quietly stop. It smells of nothing. It sinks in fast enough that a collar goes on straight after.
Small things. But they’re the difference between a bottle that gets finished and a bottle that joins the graveyard at the back of the cabinet.
The honest part
It will not undo fifteen years. Nothing in a bottle does, and anyone telling you otherwise is selling you something worse than a serum.
What it did do was end the argument I’d been having with myself about whether any of it was worth the money — because for the first time I could see the active in the glass instead of reading about it on a box. And it goes past my chin now. That part is entirely free.
